Water Skills for Life

Water safety and Water Skills for Life is an integral part of a child’s learning through the Health & PE Curriculum. If your school has a pool, then Swimming New Zealand educators are available to training teachers to deliver Water Skills for Life. The programme comprises classroom learning about water safety and awareness and pool skills training. Water Skills for Life is easy to teach and the students love it. Learn more about Water Skills for Life here.

Water Skills for Life Plus

Anne McLeod, owner/founder of McLeod Group and Water Safety New Zealand have partnered to introduce a pilot extension water safety programme into some primary schools in Tauranga. This programme emphasises the importance of students learning water safety skills alongside stroke and distance focused swimming skills and provides opportunities for students to learn boating, beach, river and cold open water safety.

Water Skills for Life Beach

To make Water Skills for Life truly effective to ensure a generational improvement in children’s knowledge, attitudes and behaviour around water, we are embedding Water Skills For Life into authentic environmental education to make water safety skills training reflective of real-life experiences. Water Skills For Life Beach  incorporates all the learnings from the foundation programme with in-depth learning around beach and rocky foreshore recreation and water safety. The programme has various learning components which can be experienced in the classroom, on field trips to the beach (dryland), pool/wave pool and in, on and around the water at the beach.
