FREE teacher workshop
Book into this free half day’s professional development workshop so you can learn to teach Water Skills for Life to your students.
Water Skills for Life is the national aquatic education for students in Years 1 – 8. It was developed to provide children life long water safety skills and knowledge.
Drowning is a problem in New Zealand and our recent attitudes and behaviour survey found that over a third of people had first-hand experience of a serious situation in the water.
While the majority of Kiwis say they can swim, for many they have not learnt water safety skills. Swimming alone may not be sufficient to save a life from drowning.
Training will be led by Swimming New Zealand educators.
This is a free workshop for school teachers and is sponsored by Swimming New Zealand and Water Safety New Zealand.
